
The Postal Training Center, Kolkata is housed in at the Post & Telegraph residential complex which is very near to City Center-1, Salt Lake, Kolkata- 700064. PTC Kolkata has equipped itself with the state of good computer training facilities and trains a large number of personal in IT related activities and other postal operations. Postal Training Center, Kolkata was inaugurated by the then Secretary Posts, Smt. Kaberi Bannerjee along with the then Chief Postmaster General, Madam Arundhuti Ghosh on 15th Februrary’2016.
Infrastructure and Activities:
The training center has a infrastructure of two class rooms, one chamber for ADPS(Training), one front office room and with one ladies & one gents toilet. There is a beautiful philatelic park in front of the training center, which is the only open-air philatelic park of DOP in India. One of the two class rooms are used for theoritical classes and the other for practical classes. One HSG-I Post Office, NDC and a Mail Business Centre, headed by an Asstt. Superintendent are also functioning within this complex. PTC Kolkata is running successfully with different types of training including In-house Induction training, System Administrator Training, Mid-Career Training, Dak Karmayogi Training, CSI Training, Business Development Training, PO RMS Accountant Training, IT Modernisation Training, Aadhar Training, procedure of Booking and Soft Skill Development Training, etc. A permanent trainer and some guest lecturers of the circle with specialized knowledge are also impart training at this training center. During the nationwide pandemic situation PTC Kolkata had organized more than 25 numbers of Online Training program for different categories of staffs of West Bengal Circle which was completed successfully.
